He lay on the small bed, eyes closed, trying to sleep. It was useless, he couldn't. He opened his eyes and sat up slowly, a sharp pain in his lungs from moving too quickly, and he winced. He turned at footsteps in the hall, and smiled as he saw Hamilton standing in the doorway, a cup in each of his hands. "It took me a long time to make this, so you better drink all of it!" He said, smiling as he walked over to Lafayette. He took the cup, feeling the warmth from it on his hands, and smiled.
